What happens when student Oyster card expires?
Expiry. Your 18+ Student Oyster photocard expires when your course ends. Your school, college or university will tell us if you’re no longer eligible or your course end date has changed. Your photocard will then be stopped.
What does an 18+ Oyster card do?
If you’re 18 or over, a full-time student and living in a London borough, you may be eligible for a 30% travel discount on most Transport for London (TfL) services with an 18+ Student Oyster photocard. The 18+ Student Oyster photocard can be used to purchase discounted weekly and monthly season tickets.
How long does it take for a 18+ Oyster card to arrive?
Your 18+ Student Oyster photocard will be sent to the address you provide and should arrive within five to seven days after approval from King’s. Please note that when applying you will need: A colour, digital photo.
Can I get a 16+ Oyster if I’m 18?
If you’re 18, you must apply for your 16+ Zip Oyster photocard and create your own photocard web account. When you apply, you agree that you or the Zip Oyster photocard holder will comply with our Young Person’s Behaviour Code. If you or the photocard holder doesn’t, we can withdraw the photocard.
Can you still use your Oyster card after it expires?

What happens when your Zip Oyster expires?
All 16 to 18-year-olds whose Zip Oyster photocards run out on 30 September are reminded that they need to reapply by 13 September to ensure they continue to get their free or discounted travel concession.
