Pour one out for your high school mix tapes: Apple announced Monday at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that it’s shutting down iTunes, its 18-year-old digital media software. Mac users will be able to access the iTunes Music Store within the Music app, and buy movies and TV shows in the TV app.
Why is iTunes hated?
Historically people hated iTunes because products like iPods always had to synched to iTunes and the stored music was not transferable. With iPods there were always major issues with synching devices that were legitimately supposed to be co-operating.
