Here’s how to donate to Locks of Hope:
- Cut a minimum of 6 inches of hair. (8 inches is preferred.
- Print the hair donation form and fill in your details.
- Put the hair and hair donation form in a sealed plastic bag, and then into an envelope.
- Mail your hair to the Locks of Hope Association office.
Where do I donate my hair in Malaysia?

Locks of Hope Association is the first in Malaysia for public to donate their hair to be turned into wigs for cancer patients. Hair loss is one of the most traumatic side effects that most chemo patients face, especially female and child patients.
How much hair do you need to cut to donate to Locks of Love?
Measure the length of the ponytail, from the elastic band to the tips of the hair. It should be at least 8 inches long. Donations that do not reach that length cannot be used because they are too short for making a wig. If your hair is not yet 8 inches long, just continue to grow it out.
How long can I donate my hair?
35.5cm (14in) is the hair length required to create wigs in order for the hair to be processed. 1-2cm shorter is okay to donate, but the longer the donation the better! If you’ve got to wait a little longer for your hair to reach that length, you could consider setting up your fundraising page now!
What is the procedure to donate hair?
Curly hair should be pulled straight for an accurate measurement. In general, organizations ask that donated hair be bundled into a ponytail or braid that’s tightly secured with rubber bands at both ends. Loose hair or clippings from the floor aren’t accepted.

What kind of hair can you donate for locks of Love?
Colored or permed hair is acceptable. Any hair NOT bundled in a ponytail or braid, cannot be used. Shorter hair will be separated from the ponytails and may be sold to offset the manufacturing costs. The Hair Donation Form is not required to donate hair.
